SEO Nightmares: SEO Traps to Avoid

Page copy protected against web site content infringement by Copyscape

This page about the worst SEO Traps is a companion page to my page about the Top 3 SEO Tips. Because the series is written somewhat tongue-in-cheek, I suggest you read the other page first. I am just starting on this page, without a clear timeline for finishing it.

The Worst SEO Traps

Auto hits. What are auto hits? Some people try to sell you ten thousand targeted visitors within a few days for a handful of dollars. Yes, but on Google Adwords, the same number of clicks will cost you thousands of dollars. So it's too good to be true, and therefore it can't be true. I'm not entirely familiar with all the techniques used to give you these "hits", but rest assured that they are worthless. One technique is to have your site visited by robots. One technique is one whereby some users sign up to get paid to see ads. All they have to do is leave a small browser window open on their computer, and the ads cycle there automatically. They can shrink that window to the size of a postcard stamp. They are human, so they count as "real visitors", but these people will not really see your site and are certainly not the kind of traffic you are looking for.

Seo Nightmare Sites

This guy mentions more SEO traps.

This site has two basic articles about SEO nightmares.

Things that don't really work

On sites to hire SEO freelancers, there are a lot of projects for work on Craigslist. But according to this article, Craigslist SEO is almost dead.
